PET/MRI News

Medical imaging refers to several different technologies that are used to view the human body in order to diagnose, monitor, or treat medical conditions. Each type of technology gives different information about the area of the body being studied or treated, related to possible disease, injury, or the effectiveness of medical treatment. Methods of imaging may include ultrasound, MRI, pediatric X-ray imaging, medical X-ray imaging, radiography, CT, fluoroscopy and mammography.

New ultrasound technique is first to image inside live cells
Researchers at The University of Nottingham have developed a break-through technique that uses sound rather than light to see inside live cells, with potential application in stem-cell transplants...
'Emotional hangover' may influence future memory formation
The more emotional an experience is, the better we remember it. But do emotional states have a delayed effect on our ability to form new memories?
One in four men with suspected prostate cancer could avoid unnecessary biopsy if given an MRI scan first, study estimates
Giving men with suspected prostate cancer an MRI scan could improve diagnosis and save those who do not have aggressive cancers from having an unnecessary biopsy, according to a study published in...
Ultrasound may enhance delivery of RNA molecules to treat GI disorders
A new study shows that ultrasound enhances delivery of RNA strands into the colon cells of mice with colitis to block production of inflammatory protein.
New PET imaging technique may help monitor neurological disease progression
Olfactory neurons in the nasal cavity are the primary source of our sense of smell. Unlike many types of neurons, olfactory neurons are continuously generated throughout the adult lifespan.
